History
As a family we have owned horses for almost 40 years. Our first horse 'Cuddles' was purchased from the riding school we were learning at and he was closely followed by 'Tarzan'. In 1996 we changed our life in the city for a life in the country and brought our boys to the farm, and so the story begins...
The Riding School
...over time we bought, were given, collected and adopted a full herd, and after gaining BHS qualifications and working in and managing riding schools for years we decided to open our own. After several years the patter of tiny feet and other work and family commitments meant we closed the riding school and pursued other vocations alongside the livery yard.
Breeding
In 2015 we welcomed our first homebred 'Splash' and she was soon followed by our second, Quest, in 2019, both of whom are regular visitors to Vale Cottage in the Summer months!
Livery
We are proud to offer livery services to 15 horses alongside our own herd of 8. Our lovely clients, many of whom have been with us for many years, are fun loving, kind and friendly and all have the welfare of their horses at the heart of all they do.
Fun Days
We love a themed day at the farm and have recently enjoyed Halloween pole work and a Christmas extravaganza under the watchful eye of our resident APC. We are looking forward to an Easter dressage competition and a pub ride is definitely in the pipeline for the Summer!
Reach for the Stars
We are proud to support our liveries in all that they do, whether it's a nice ride out in the countryside, a Prix Caprilli competition or even a yard day out with the group we affectionately know as the 'Galloping Grannies'. Our aim is to allow access to good quality livery for all, at affordable prices, with an emphasis on fun, horse welfare and rider well being.
We are currently full and very happy with our lovely liveries. However, we do keep an active waitlist. Please get in touch if you require any further information or wish to be added to this list.
